Experimental 24-segment display or massive monochrome Mondrian matrix. Pixel compatible!
The thinking behind this one was that with incongruously sized segments arranged in the proper way, I would create a design which was effectively 5x5, but which accomodated more glyphs than 5x5 usually does. Negative space is incorporated into the structure of many glyphs, though not enough to classify this as an IVO design.
"Qualtron" is the name of an imaginary entity that a friend believed in - a being meant to represent the result of "a mathematical equation that can rule the universe". I didn't inquire further about it... :D
*
Design Rules:
1. Segments can have interior length/width of 2 or 5.
2. The central 2x2 square must always remain open.
3. Square bricks and 90-degree angles only.
*
Original size: 20.75pt (use multiples of this value for pixel perfection)
IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS FONT IS NO LONGER BEING WORKED ON. I HAVE A BIGGER FONT TO WORK ON FOR THE TIME BEING.
YOU ARE FREE TO CLONE AND FINISH THIS FONT IF YOU WANT.
Finally done. Phew! It took two days to make this. This is a full collection of 5×7 Dot Matrix characters as seen on many devices, like Texas Instruments calculators. A lot of these are custom. Sources include TI-83, TI-86, TI-89, Casio Monochrome Graphing Calculators, Casio fx-115ES PLUS, and the rest, I created them myself. I included fractions for those themes on Microsoft Office don't have matching "1/3" and other fractions with the "1/4", "1/2", and "3/4". The fullwidth characters are substitutes for the other characters in the regular style, such as the math "x" and "y" from Casio.
Please note that character sets like Arabic and some Math Operators are beyond 5×7 pixels. If you want to know why? Because Arabic is very big and if I put it all in 5×7 pixels, the text will look weird, won't really fit inside, and there would be no point to it. I left it as is. Roman Numerals cannot fit if you were doing the "VIII" character, for example.
Enjoy!
8/28/2019: Font created.
1/7/2020: Added characters in the following form: Fullwidth and Halfwidth are used for making TI-73 Explorer characters, plus actual monospace setting characters. Note that Runic, Tagalog, and Hanunoo are replaced with character variants. The last variation of a character is from Minecraft's font. The fractions are also changed to level the line spacing. The wide "M" is never ever for use on Monospacing.
1/8/2020: More variations are added, extended to replace Buhid. I also added other math symbols and more. To type x̄, press unicode shortcut and type 01b2. To type ȳ, press unicode shortcut and type 01b3. I also added over a hundred, or two hundred, more characters to stock up on the font. Oh and I changed the filters to separate the pixels for a more pixel and retro look. Also fixed the spacing on the "Щ" character.
9/8/2020: Added a bunch of more characters to the font set.
8/25/2023: fixed the license so that the download works now.
Espaniranto is a transitional "lost link" conscript between Latin and the "future" Desertborn Language conscripts like "Wadi Emet" and "Seeq Antique" from the planet Araxes at the Mu Draconis System http://slurl.com/secondlife/Splintered%20Rock/55/4/55 (A Second Life Sci-Fi RPG sim/server cluster ). It covers most of the basic latin script(english), some extended glyphs to write Esperanto(ĉ, ĝ, ĥ, ĵ, ŝ, ŭ) and Spanish(ñ) but without accents and with basic limited extra glyph support besides the alphabet. In accordance with Desertborn scholar Taquis Samiirah Sorciere from House Morloch, Desertborn culture has it's roots mostly out from earth-that-was Berber culture, so maybe the Desertborn scripts evolved through millennia from a common branch of pidgin alphabets of hybridized Latin, Tifinagh scripts, Berber Latin, and unknown space-farer scripts resembling the one at the "Singapore Stone". Espaniranto is highly regarded as the possible common Latin script ancestor. The numerals are binary coded glyphs and naturaly suitable to be used in base-12(ø being number 10 and Ø being 11). Yet is highly compatible with the common base-10 numeral system in the Empire. Desertborn culture is highly regarded as possessing superior engineering and for their creative technological solutions in contrast to the common starborn ways. Some other odd influences notorious in Espaniranto are: -It's peculiar punctuation that somehow resemble the Himalayan conventions of Tibeto-burmese or mongolian scripts like phagspa, uchen/umê, and newa scripts. -It's "unicase" nature as in such scripts. A more solid link to the eurasian plateaus mysticism had been provided in the only especimen of Espaniranto writing being a XXIII'rd century treatise/manual on mysticism, the so called Lagrangian-Point Dzogchen-Zen-Sufi codex, a specimen with plenty of common mystic terminology between Persiand and Tibetan plateaus mysticism, but fully wrote in Classical Zamenhof's Esperanto. The lack of any ascender and descender in the Espaniranto script and it's awful readability supports the idea of it being mostly a religious script in opposition to daily use. This is a cloneMorita Casual is a perplexive, handwritten font that was once published through other MS-DOS games, but did not obtain an example of "Ready to Read with Pooh", since it is not yet still restored by the DOS system. Morita Casual may refer to Jōkichi or Kazuhito Morita's handwriting, but it cannot be reflected to Tolman, which is from Berkeley Softworks (1985), containing the GEOS FontPack 1 (C64 version). No similarities within this font is questioned.
Revamped with New Heathcliff Helvetica, this is the Unicode version with IPA and phonetic supplements as well as Latin Extended-D.
