I made this typeface with the set theme 'Analogue' and 'Lo-fi' given in my graphics design course. I decided on a huamn vs computer style in reference to the analogue theme (as if a computer had attempted to make a hand-drawn font) and its imperfections in reference to the Lo-fi theme (where a computer would fall short of being about to recreate natural human touch). Only the upper case letters have this effect, I made a simple sans serif font to pair with the main upper case letters.
After choosing Lo-Fi as a project theme on my graphic design course, I wanted to explore the idea of 'bad handwriting' and how it's perceived as messy, informal, and even sometimes stupid. Each letter has its own quirks and individuality, and gives the idea of authenticity. Perfect for projects that need a personal, raw, and expressive feel.
My font is based on the original word messy, which I took in the direction of disjointed and disorientated. I wanted to create something that did not quite add up and felt messy in more of a psycological way instead of a physical way.
This is a cloneBevangular is a brand new pixel font which explores combining tall, rectangular lowercase with fat, 'bevelled' uppercase characters to create a quirky, imperfect but still unique style. It supports all of the Google Font Basic set.
Hijack is my first typeface and as been produced from my theme Asymmetrical. The font takes the characteristic of imperfections and glitches. In a world that often criticises imperfections and irregularities it offers an option to embrace the unsymmetrical aspects within this typeface. The use of this typeface could fit in a large variety of circumstances and forms, whether it be billboard posters, t-shirt and bags, TV, flyers and online website banners.
