@Christian_Munk_(CMunk) You're welcome.
This is a clone of KapowI took a look at the very first font I published and looking back at it now, I couldn't help but think I could have done better and gone much further with it. Having learned a few things along the way when I was working on the light version of Pixelbabania, I decided to invest some time into working on a much improved version of Pixelbabania VI, while once again following a self-imposed limitation. This time, I decided to go with 6x9 (with some exceptions) to allow a bit more wriggle room and to make characters with accents much nicer, and even decided to change up some of the characters to improve their look. Not only this, I decided I'd try and see if it was possible to add more characters from other sets and thus far, it had gone quite nicely.
After so much time on and off, now I share with you the fruits of my labor and love.
Note: I have done what I could to get N'ko and to a lesser extent Adlam to play nice; unfortunately I could not get the tone marks to actually just go above or below the characters properly, therefore they will take residence right next to the character, taking up another space. Apologies for any inconvenience caused to those who type in those languages.
04/12/23 : Fixed up a few more glyphs in Box Drawing to make them look and work proper with the others.
Recreation of the small pixel font from Sega's "Ristar" (1995) on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis.
This recreation uses the special TTF+SVG format, which currently has limited support.
Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.

This is a clone of Sonic 1 Title CardThis is an unofficial forum I have made for FontStruct tutorials and educational materials. Want to know how to do something, or how to make a certain style or effect? This is the place to ask. I am not part of staff, and am far from being the most advanced user on here, but will pass on whatever I can.
I have been writing an FS video series for some time, but it has proven very time-consuming to make the series as comprehensive (and as high-quality) as I would like. It has also occurred to me that I can teach a lot through simple text and graphics. This is my attempt to create a knowledge hub for FS where all the good stuff is in one place. If you make a tutorial or expand on mine in some way, you're welcome to post those here as well.
Please keep the discussion topical. This page is about tutorials, requests and discussions for them, etc. Idea Soup is more of a free-for-all and anything FS-related is accepted there. Idea Soup is also a good place to discuss tutorial ideas, since we can work out exactly what needs to be taught there without clogging the comment section here. (There is a limit on the number of comments this page can have, right?)
This page is open to users of all languages, but we may have to use Google Translate to answer you. Sorry in advance for any bad translations :D

This is what I call a Plain Spurless design. There are no actual spurs, only right-angled corners to suggest spurs. All lowercase letters are like this except r, which is a Rounded Spurless because it needs to curve to avoid looking like Γ, and because it's only 2 bricks wide so there's no other place for it to curve.
I made this to have mostly right angles, to have a condensed look (see filrt), and to be good for speedreading. My own experiments in speedreading favored glyphs with simple curves which don't terminate in small arcs (see CGJSZfgjrsyz@()[]{}). There are exceptions (c2369?$) because these are more recognizeable when they have such arcs. Additionally, glyphs such as BPRXY have slightly rounded counters near the vertical center, which enhanced their readability without causing them to look out of place.
The remainder of design considerations were things which are fairly idiosyncratic and unlikely to be discovered by others. For instance, the descender of Q is 2 bricks, while lowercase letters' descenders are 3 bricks and symbols' descenders are 1 brick. This is the result of a technique that attempts to visually codify different cases & types of glyphs. The slightly different contours thus formed by each word on its underside seem to enhance both readability and aesthetics.
