The ultra-low resolution of this grid may be difficult to grasp without cloning. Fontstruct’s logo has a nominal x-height of 3 bricks, by comparison.
The level of detail, control, and finesse possible in a given fonstruction depended mostly on resolution prior to the recent advent of stackable composites. Did you want it better? Make it bigger!

Instead of building individual glyphs hundreds of bricks tall, stackable composites allow us to design rich modular schemata hundreds of bricks deep. Using curved bricks at their largest scale, linear and curvilinear elements dynamically harmonize and oppose. As well, screen fonts can be effectively hinted (aside from notable lack of kerning controls) without sacrificing the integrity of joins and intersections. And the trapping possibilities, Oh the sweet sweet trapping possibilities...

We used to have sheep and I wanted a sheepy font for a project. The sheep have quite clear letters in smaller size but the sheepy shape is less obvious. This is my first font and I will improve it to get a better shape/outline (thankyou to Fontstruct).
This font has been made for my grandson who adores anything 'computer' although he is only a little over 1 year old :) I hope he'll like the 'technical/electronic' look of "his" font :) when he is old enough to use his dad's computer for homework (or writing to me?) ...
No prize for guessing correctly what this is about ;))) Hommage à AFT - Cirque :D I know I'm nowhere near as visionary, courageaous and expressive as he is

Decorated cups on UC (blanks: left-handed cup on L, right-handed cup on R, bowl on O). LC letters are from my "unstraight" font. To make twin-handled UC and LC cups: type left bracket followed by the chosen UC or LC cup. A blank twin-handled cup is on. Numbers are on Japanese style tea bowls :)
I wanted to celebrate my 5 years of FontStructing, so I looked for a special font among my older unpublished ones. I think this one fits the celebration.
The original text explains my inspiration, a 2-colour swirled soup I made for a special occasion:
When I saw the pattern created by gently pouring crême fraîche across the surface of spinach soup I simply HAD to make a font reminiscent of the flowing shapes and lines slowly spreading across the top and thinning out irregularly. This font looks fine with the standard sample text in smallest pixel size. The larger sized text looks more like the floating dissipating cream on the soup's surface :)

I was looking for some "decorative" glyphs to embellish greeting cards' frames; having come across one of my Greek sets I decided to make the whole Greek alphabet rather than stop at the 7 symbols I liked for my project.

These are intended to be used as distance guides. This tool/tutorial/ressource will help members, as it will avoid your wasting time on counting pixels ;) specially useful when you want to set know height/width of a glyph that is larger than the open window of the FontStructor Grid.
Copy and paste the lines that have the dimensions you need -add more lines if your glyphs are higher/wider than the lines I show-, to the left of the blue line and/or below the base line; put them at 3 px distance so that they don't interfere with your work ;)
You only need to paste the lines once ;), into one of the spaces on the glyph band (putting them on a glyph slot that you don't use, it"ll be there for reference even when you switch off the green Extra Guides. Just remember to erase the lines when you've finished your font so that the lines won't disturb you when testing the font in the preview and won't stay when the finished font is being used.
This tool will avoid you having to spend time counting height and width when you want to know the dimensions of your glyph or of one you've cloned. Useful also when you have to make a font that is higher than the working space you give to your Fontstructor Grid, and when a FontStruct competition sets a certain dimension for glyphs, usually 48px (but do read the competition information!!), you'll have the dimensions ready-to-apply.
Pixel font recreation from Konami's classic "Gradius" (1986). A variation on the generic Nintendo font, most notable in the letters V, Y and in some of the numeral. This font includes the special characters from my standard Nintendoid 1 to make it more generally useful, and for the first time includes the strange "horizontal semicolon" used on most of the early Nintendo games' start screens.

Gothixel Mono. A blackletter-style monospace font for small pixel sizes. One half of the Gothixel font family.
Gothixel Mono proudly supports Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, and Hebrew character sets. It also has a big inventory of characters with diacritics, including those necessary for Vietnamese and polytonic Greek.
Gothixel Mono's majuscules are one pixel wider than the minuscules, and the font's default tracking is on the wide side to accomodate this. You can tighten the tracking if desired, but in that case, all-caps text will run together. If you need appropriate space between all letters, I recommend Gothixel, the proportional-width font. However, Gothixel is further behind in development and doesn't have as many character sets yet.
