Another recap from one of the works by great Dutch graphical designer "Jurriaan Schrofer".
This time I revisited a design that originally was made back in 1975 for the Dutch Post Office (PTT) office build floor plans.
JS-SANS MARX (CONDENSED BOLD) — Geometric Sans-Serif
═══════════════════════════════════
Another font addition to the ever evolving and growing collection of revivals and inspired works called LETTERS OP MAAT, a project celebrating and trying to recreate the typographic contributions originally designed by Dutch graphic designer Jurriaan Schrofer.
This time I did a revival based on a sans-serif lettering concept Schrofer did in 1968 during his time with Mouton & Co. The lettering concept was seen on his book cover design for the book "Marx and contemporary scientific thoughts; Marx et la pensée scientifique contemporaine". The book cover only shows 4 lowercase letters, spelling the word "marx". But these pretty much have all the important features to extrapolate the remainder of the alphabet from. At the same time having just 4 letters allows for a much more loosely approach towards inventing the other letter solutions.
I decided to create a typeface family of multiple styles each with different weight properties (Light, Medium & Bold in both Compressed and Condensed form). The medium weight is what was actually seen on the original book cover.
I hope you like it,
Interrested in more of my Jurriaan Schrofer inspired? Please take a look a my complete collection of Fontstructions tagged with STF-LETTERS OP MAAT for the full catalog of fonts I contributed to this project so far.
Cheers
Made on a whim as a result of rediscovering an old design (see sample).
It's pixel perfect at 12pt, 24pt, 36pt, etc. :^)
Since the inspiration image had only uppercase in it, I took some style liberties with the lowercase. The result is mildly comical!
Going for an industrial sci-fi look. The hard angles give these letters the appearance of being made by some kind of tape or roller.
This font was originally designed to be uppercase only. So, the lowercase might be considered as an alternate set.
Original size: 24pt (24pt, 48pt, etc. look most crisp when not using antialiasing)
Recap of the lettering seen on a old brochure by Wendingen for the "Internationale Theater Tentoonstelling Amsterdam 1922"
The brochure and letters were designed by:
"Hendricus Theodorus Wijdeveld" (4 october 1885 – 20 februari 1987).
As usual I completed the alphabet, but (since its mainly a display typeface) this time I used the punctuations to store some glyphs meant to be used for drawing ornamental decorations as seen on the original brochure design.
The second recap of "Onleesbaar Alfabet"
Which translates to "Unreadable Alphabet",
originally designed by Dutch graphical designer "Jurriaan Schrofer".
This one features outlined glyphs.

It's the first of three and it features solid glyphs.
This is a clone of STF_JS-ONLEESBAAR ALFABET (OUTLINE)The main font used by MARENGI Omnisystems in my video game series, "Endless Sea Of Stars". These letterforms can be found engraved into or projected onto practically every piece of MO technology. This script was designed in 2011 to be suitable for printing, logo design, art, and many other purposes. It lacks the constant height which most of my other pixel fonts have, but makes up for it with its bookish appearance.
Unfortunately, replicating the exact design of the antialiased version of this font is impossible, not only on FontStruct, but on all software other than ESOSVM. This is because ESOSVM uses a custom renderer which makes use of proprietary techniques. Marengi HD comes close, but not very.

Versioning:
2.6 (19Aug2018) - "bdďđ" were perfected. Space width reduced.
2.5 (20Jul2018) - "IÌÍÎÏø" were perfected and massive kerning work began.
2.4 (15Jul2018) - "J" was perfected and several letterwidths were altered.
2.3 (18May2018) - "hnru34679ÀÁÂÃÅÈÉÊÌÍÎÏÑÒÓÔÕØÙÚÛÝÞßàáâãåæçèéêìíîïñòóôõøùúûý" were perfected.
2.2 (17May2018) - ":;gjty%/\ÂÆÊÎÔÛâæêîôû¼½¾" were edited for more consistency and readability.

Another recap in a series to attempt to re-create some of the works from late great dutch graphic designer "Jurriaan Schrofer" (15 april 1926 – 1 juli 1990).
This time I revisited the lettering for "BREDERO BOUW BEDRIJF" and completed the entire alphabet and some additional punctuations.
I hope you like it.

Proxima Punch with all curves changed to angles. A more engraved look.
This is a clone of Proxima PunchA style built on a tall ellipse. Bold line on the left, narrow line on the right. (The glyphs )]}¿¡ break this rule for the sake of aesthetics.)

Yet another polygonal font, this time a diamond. :^)
This one was also designed to combine symmetry and asymmetry. Some letters have central lines and some have offset lines. In this way a greater variety of designs was made possible.
Continuing on the theme of choosing a regular shape and making an alphabet out of it.
Looks best at smaller sizes (<24pt) and with antialiasing/ClearType turned on.
Can this be done better with filters? Probably, but I still have to learn those... :D
An uncircled version of Misplaced Baubles.
Most characters have the same height so that they can be used alongside Misplaced Baubles and other fonts of mine.
