A prototype of a stencil design. Small caps. Still very much a work in progress.

My (late) entry in the GameComp, designed mainly for titles and logos. There will be more members of the family in the future. Any suggestions or critiques are welcome. Thanks!

Zogg has taken control of the universe by systematically invading star systems and taking control of all media. All language systems have been destroyed or co-opted to brainwash and convert all into the feared Zogg Zombies. These creatures patrol the wastelands of Zogg-occupied lands. These zombies on motorcycles have marauded countless tribes and they rammage through the rubbage of Zogg's crusading empire. Rebels reprogram and use the hacked Zogg alphabet to send encoded messages that enable disparate groups to unite and fight the zombie onslaught. Rebels attack online weapon systems and military targets. Zogg troops battle to decode the embedded messages to expose rebels as they use stealth devices to attack their targets...

Crawler is a word game. Each level contains anagrams that must be unscrambled within a given amount of time to move to the next level. Player gets points for as many words spelled correctly, but can only move to next level by correctly solving anagram. As time diminishes, the letters start wiggling and eventually break apart making it more difficult to use the remaining pieces to solve correctly. Points can be used to fuse letters back together, but doesn't last long. Also the crawling pieces can start eating away at already formed words, reducing your score. Or something like that :)

My attempt to cross three of my passions: pixel art, shoot'em up games and typography.
What started as a full original design also became a homage to classic games with 103 characters.
Upper and lowercase are layers (see display below) and other characters are different kinds of game sprites.
Best used with no anti-alias at 60pt size.

This is my first typeface, it is based around the theme of "fluid". I was initially inspired by foreign alphabets/symbols/logograms. In particular, Arabic characters in a Chinese calligraphic style. While this start point could have lead to more experimental outcomes, I have chosen to keep the look simple so that it would be more versatile.

Based on disintegration, this font represents many forms of decay. It also appears like tea-stains on paper, giving it a very worn look. Despite this, the font is structured around helvetica and the letterforms remain recognisable and readable. The font is designed to be decorative and to be use selectively, for bold and attention grabbing headers, and not for large pieces of text. Think poster for your local rubbish tip! (or of a similar vibe).

Initially contemplating the concept of fluidity, looking at handwritten brush types, lead me to the idea of continuity and landed me with the category of 'continuous.' The central influence leading me to this final typeface was a Social Network diagram, where lines meet seemingly infinitely. The final product ended in a decorative, kinetic font with the use of negative space to create the emerging letters. With the typeface being difficult to read on first inspection, and the overall look of the font makes its uses limited, however I feel it could be successful in many event posters/leaflets etc.

An experiment with faux curves on a fairly small grid. It's been sitting around for a while, and I've finally decided to let it see the light of day. It was originally inspired by
Umbreon126's FS Vincons. Designed to work well at small sizes. Some letters could be better; any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted anything here. This week I'll be releasing a few new fonts to make up for the six months I've missed out on. This one is a simple sans-serif font, good for spreadsheets and other techy things. Comments and suggestions welcome!

This fs may be used on it's own, but it is designed to be used in conjunction with fs Stack Overflow so any two letters may be stacked one on top of another to create interesting word shapes and unconventional flow.
It looks simple but the execution was surprisingly involved. The idea was to do the letters in as few bricks as possible. Filters. 1.75...to be exact. Again, the geometry did not work out because custom bricks had to be formed to create the fine breaks and they did not line up with the assumed filter. A little bit of algebra later (yes kids, algebra does help in real life) 1.6 was determined as the proper filter setting.
Having built the letters as desired, with many a tweak before finalization, it was on to Overflow, which necessitated a reduction of the letters in half. That was easier said than done because of the filters. Some of the letters just did not translate exactly at half scale at 1.6 filter. Had to scrap the whole thing.
The only option remaining was to double the size and use the double size glyphs for Stack and move the existing Stack glyphs to Overflow. Doubling allowed finer glyph construction. Plenty of diversions later, what came out as reasonable was a strict following of my own grid. Figures.
It is now to the point where I can send it out in the world. I must do that before I do the sample because both thalamic and minimum accounts give a 500 Server Error when attempting a download. Luckily, I have yet another secret account which I will use to attempt download. I hope that works because I am in no mood to build words by taking screenshots and copy/pasting individual letters.
This was supposed to be a simple idea with a simple execution. It should not have taken this long. I'm really curious to see how successful the idea was. Here goes...

This was my first type design ever (dating back to 2002). I reviewed it completely so it could be more consistent and work within a modular mindset. It also has a wider character set (full latin support). Inspiration comes from old logos from toy companies and candy manufacturers.

A display typeface that shows the characteristic of Tongkonan, the traditional house of Toraja. Stiiff but attractive, dark but fancy.

This is my first fontstruction. An attempt to convey something based on building toy blocks, modernism and wood stamping. Full latin set. Soon to be released as a stamp set of its own.
