A thin proportional font, based on the upgrade shop in Bitmap Brothers' "Chaos Engine" (1993) on the Amiga, Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, and SNES.

In the game, this font uses antialiasing, and is used both as a monospaced and proportional font. This recreation simplifies the shapes, omits the antialiasing, and keeps it as a purely proportional font.

Only the characters used in game/present in the console games' tile set have been included.

Crang is a proportional sans-serif pixel font recreation based on the original main display font appearing in the video game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, developed by Tribute Games and released on various platforms by Dotemu in 2022.

The character set of this font was greatly expanded with countless additional special characters, diacritic variants, in-game icons, numbers, buttons, and lots of unique glyphs, each one of them designed to match the spirit and style of the original font design.

The base font size and recommended setting for Crang is 25pt and multiples of that. Use metric kerning and no additional smoothing effects for the ultimate pixel experience.

This font is free for non-commercial use! If you wish to obtain a commercial license for one of my fonts, please visit my web site https://caveras.net and contact me.

Recreation of the large pixel font from Konami's "Castlevania: Bloodlines" (aka "Castlevania: The New Generation", 1994) on the Sega Mega Drive. This font is used for the map, level start/end messages, and boss names in the end titles. Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.

Recreation of the pixel font from Capcom's "LED Storm" (1988) on the Amiga (and Atari ST).

Gameplay-wise, this is a port of "LED Storm Rally 2011", rather than the more common "LED Storm" (aka "Mad Gear", 1988) arcade machine.

Only the characters used in the game have been included.

Recreation of the pixel font from Bits Studio/Flying Edge's "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" (1991) on the Sega Mega Drive. In game, the font uses a subtle form of antialiasing on the top-left-most pixel, which has been omitted from this recreation. Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.

Recreation of the pixel font from Headgames/Sega's "X-Men 2: Clone Wars" (1995) on the Sega Mega Drive.

In the game, the characters use two separate shades of the same color to give a subtle antialiasing/slimming effect. In this recreation, this antialiasing has been removed, and the characters are all one solid color.

Also note that this is not a true monospace font due to the copyright symbol, which is double wide.

Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.

Recreation of the small pixel font from Konami's "Castlevania: Dracula X" (aka "Castlevania: Vampire's Kiss", "Akumajō Dracula XX", 1995) on the SNES. Exactly the same as Konami's "Biker Mice from Mars" (1994), but with an additional "®" registered sign. Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.

This is a clone of Biker Mice SNES

Recreation of the pixel font from Megasoft/Sega's "Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master" (aka "The Super Shinobi II", 1993) on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis.

Note that, for visual consistency, the ";" character has been shifted one pixel lower. The game uses two different single quote characters, but only the most distinctive has been used.

For completeness, a custom ">" character has been added. Otherwise, only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.

Recreation of the pixel font from Capcom's "Mega Man X" (1993) on the SNES. The same font was reused (and expanded) in "Mega Man X2" (1994) and "Mega Man X3" (1995). This recreation includes the fully expanded character set of the later games. It also retains the strangely mismatched "]" character of the original. Only the characters present in the games' tile sets have been included.

Recreation of the pixel font from Codemasters' "Rockstar Ate My Hamster" (1988). Slightly expanded with a few additional custom characters not present in the original game.

Edited (11/2016) to fix some of the characters, based on a more accurate source (C64 emulation of the game) and to include the "BLACK LARGE SQUARE" (U+2B1B) unicode character.

It's mostly monospaced, with the exception of the unusual &, © and ® used on the splash screen and the ß from the German version. Also included are the original (fairly ugly, admittedly) extended characters from the German and French version.

The main changes are a custom Q (as I couldn't find the original) and tweaked versions of Z and 0, as well as a boat-load of additional special characters.

This is the recreation of the two small, 6px tall variants used for the game menus, end-of-stage stats, and the end credits. These have been spread out across the upper- and lowercase. Note the reduced-size 5px tall numerals, and the copyright symbol used on the title screen. UPDATE: in the game, the font has a 2px spacing to account for the outline. in this recreation, i opted to just go for a 1px spacing - if you do use it outlined, make sure to add the extra pixel for authenticity.
