my final entry in ScriptComp. all the great work that has been on display during the competition really motivated me to do this. i have done other electricity-inspired fonts, but this one is different from those being it is an electric script or at least what i was able to envision. i think perhaps since i live in the lightning capital of the world (Orlando, supposedly) maybe also had a part in it. this was challenging and fun. tried not to reply too much on the copy and paste, although i'm afraid that's my great challenge when using FS - not to be too obviously modular and really making each character as unique as possible. thanks for the motivation, guys:) and good luck everyone. note: please do not redsitribute and repost this font elsewhere. thanks.

This typeface was addapted from "egrang" . Egrang is traditional game from Indonesia . The player walk with two bamboo sticks that have some wooden block to place their foots. The rule is to race until the finish line without droping the foot to the ground . In this typeface , I used bamboo shape for the stroke and the wooden block for the horizontal stroke .

This font was based on the word ornate. It draws inspiration from neo-classical architecture, tattoos the base outline takes elements from church windows holding the inner detailing which was somewhat inspired by a combination of knit-work and the forms within the glass holding together stain glass windows. I have taken heavy influence from gothic fonts and architecture, looking in particular at religion and religious texts. An improvement of the former (Headless/Tangle, now called Tangled Hairline); This version is bolder and simpler with more striking 'chaos motion' lines. This version is perhaps more decorative looking than the original and definitely more ordered in the sense of the letterforms to enable usability.This is a clone

'Cycles' is based around Bicycle gears and chains in motion. While Spinning the chain blurs and the chains dirt and grease effects the reflection of light. this is the effect i was trying to achieve.The idea for 'Cycles' started from the word 'repetition' i started looking at repeated motion and journeys that i regularly repeated. I take the same route everyday to university so i began by looking at my method of transport. the act of cycling itself is repetitive (Pedaling) and the angles of the cogs and chains were perfect for constructing letters.

This is a font that I have designed during the first term of my Graphic Design degree at UWE Bristol. My typeface is based on the word 'decay'. My letters take the form of teeth, these teeth have been decayed and have holes, cracks and rot on the actual tooth and roots. I developed this typeface by researching and taking photographs of rotten and healthy teeth. I then traced and made sketches from them. I then distorted the shapes to make up my type. This typeface could be really good for use in a dental industry for advertising against tooth decay or things like toothpaste etc..

I began by exploring the theme of decaying objects, such as fruit, and studied the shape (and change of shape) of the objects, as they progressively fell apart. By creating hand drawn sketches i began to create a typeface that looked as though it was rotting/melting away. I used a traditional typeface, Times New Roman, that could be considered as quite boring and a font which has been around for a long time and then used it as a base font which i then made to look as though it was rotting and falling apart by refering back to my earlier sketches. Overall I aimed to create a typeface that represents the decay of an older, more traditional and perhaps overused typeface.

I intended to make some sort of an M.C.Escher tribute here. I'm sorry this isn't very complete and far from being perfectly well done, but it somewhat started to make me feel dizzy...;) And even though I'm not very convinced by this, I don't think I'd come up with a way better execution soon.
I hope for Mr Escher that there are better tribute fonts for him out there! He'd definitely deserve it...
It was by the way funk_king's Impossible Alphabet that reminded me of this unfinished thing laying around in my messy unpublished fontstructions box, and made me take it out and finish it. (If you can call 42 characters "finished".)

It was by the way funk_king's Impossible Alphabet that reminded me of this unfinished thing laying around in my messy unpublished fontstructions box, and made me take it out and finish it. (If you can call 42 characters "finished".)
