I've returned too late to make a special font for the Reversecomp. I already had changed some aspects of the "Lord Calendulos" version of Calendula set in the clone taken and finished this Lady version today. As my competition entry I flipped the Lady Calendula glyphs horizontally. This means my reversecomp entry font "Calendula Lady" can be used like a plane shadow when placed under Lady Calendula.

Dornach is a town/village in Switzerland where I'm on a family visit right now. It's very quite here, with lovely people who always greet me, asian looking guy, with smile ). The "o" was created not long after LoveComp's announcement, but it's here, in Dornach, with some spare time in my hand, I could finally find consistent development for it. A LoveComp entry #2 that's still in progress, other letters and samples will hopefully come soon. Thanks & Enjoy!

My project was to create a font around a particular stimuli word - mine being 'dangerous'. My main inspiration came from a quote from my scuba diving instructor as he said "never touch anything in the water that is beautiful as all the beautiful things are the most dangerous". When I think of this quote and apply it to things I could see on a daily basis, I think of a rose, a beautiful flower with sharp thorns. The idea for my font was to create not a beautiful font, but a strong looking font with something beautiful yet harmful wrapped around it.

I like the way of building font using simple square but also in that a simple design which indicate petals of flower so I named it as blossom.

I created this font for my University project. It was my first time using this site and I found it quite hard at first but now quite enjoy the possibilities. I started by looking at the word "Ornate" which to me, means adorned or decorated. When I looked at decorative adorned work, I noticed the use of vines and flowers. I then took photos of vines on buildings which inspired my font. I started with a basic letter form and by using composite bricks I added pattern in the bricks and edges much like some older buildings. Then finally added vines and flowers to complete the font.

the western font family mostly uses the same grid size. started with wagon train, then desert rose, saloon, ironside, and finally cart before the horse which uses a narrower grid. they are similar, but unique and each evokes a different feeling - desert rose i think is simple and pretty with its flowerets, saloon is fancy and sassy, ironside is macho and machine-like, wagon train and cart before the horse are simple but also have some embellishments :)
