My fontstruction inspired by building structures, each letters ascenders and descenders inspired me to shape each letter in their individual way. I tried to include different aspects of what you see in buildings throughout the alphabet like stairs, windows, doors, roofs etc.

My chosen theme name was systematic and I followed that theme through to my style of type face by how buildings and structures are systematic, they work together as a big system and fit into a city.

HIGH SOCIETY

This font was created based originally on the word 'Gregarious'. From that I researched Social Housing in the UK. These are spaces designed to house many people for as cheap as possible. I used compound blocks to create complex detailed flats that stack up as high as a tower block usually would.

Urban Destruction is based on a destructed city. This evolved from the idea that fire is dangerous, and the cause of fire is destruction. I took this idea and developed it to destructed buildings that provoke a dangerous environment. This could be used as a title of a graphic novel, which are usually based in dangerous cities.

This fs was started in January 2012. I didn't remember that of course, I just checked the created date. Similarly, who-the-fun can remember what the inspiration was for it. All I know is that it has gone through many iterations to reach this state. It only uses the one square brick but oh so many of them. Even though all it contains are straight lines, still a pain to build brick by square brick. I am so glad it is over. I will not be doing much more than this on it. Bye bye, Build. Based on the theme 'decay' I chose to look at how I could incorporate buildings into my font. I looked at derelict buildings during my development and thought the idea was strong enough to go ahead with. I wanted to give the idea of an abandoned city with the buildings decaying over time. I did this by bringing parts of the buildings skeleton through and with the shattered windows.

I looked into the theme of Energy and decide to create a typeface based on the form of lightning. I studied the different forms of lightning and how it travels.

I was inspired to design this typeface by the architecture of Bristol city centre. I was most interested in all the different kinds of windows I saw around, and the many shapes there were from decorative and detailed to modern and simple. I collected lots of photos of the best windows to work with, and developed these into letter forms. I then edited them until they worked as a consistent typeface. I think Windowstruct would work well for logos or posters, as it looks best as single words or in a large size.

Kind of based on xe Micropolis by xenophilius, I have designed this font as famous buildings in Washington, D.C., the Capital of the United States. I will be updating the font regularly with new buildings and museums. Note that the buildings are not at all to scale. Here's what the buildings are: A - Capitol Building B - Library of Congress C - Washington Monument D - Lincoln Memorial E - Jefferson Memorial F - White House G - Museum of Natural History DC H - Smithsonian Museum I - National Air and Space Museum -- and more to come.
