Recreation of the pixel font from Atari's "Cops'n Robbers" (1976). Very similar to Atari's "Night Driver" (1976), but note the difference in the "C".

This font appears to have been "borrowed" by a few subsequent games of the era, such as Exidy's "Car Polo" (1977). Note the strangely small "4".

Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.

This is a clone of Night Driver

Recreation of the large pixel font from Atari's "Super Bug" (1977) and "Fire Truck" (aka "Smokey Joe", 1978).

In the games, the font is incomplete. Both lack a "Q", "V" and "W", which I made from scratch for this recreation, trying to approximate the overall style/feel. The "J" is present in "Super Bug", but not "Fire Truck". Conversely, the "K" is present in "Fire Truck" only.

With the exception of the added letters, only the characters present in the games' tilesets have been included.

Seen in numerous of early Sega/Gremlin games, mostly on their "Vic Dual" hardware, this font can also be seen in some other games, such as "Phoenix", the sequel, which was Tecmo's very first game called "Pleiades", it also appears in some of Data East's earliest game with a modified "Z".

Many would argue that this is where it all began...Lyle Rains' iconic pixel font for Atari/Kee Games' "Sprint 2" (1976), used again for "Sprint 4" (1977), "Sprint 1" (1978) and a plethora of other arcade machines and consoles from that point on - this is the archetypal "arcade machine / 8bit game" font. Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.

The classic pixel font from the early days of video games - Taito's "Space Invaders" (1978). An early version of this font was already used in games like Taito's "Circus" (1977) and Exidy's "Robot Bowl" (1977). This extended edition also includes additional characters found in later games, like Taito's "Lunar Rescue" (1979), "Space Chaser" (1979), Exidy's "Crash" (1979) and SNK's "Ozma Wars" (1979).
