i imagine the game for this font would be a type of anagram word game. starting out with few letters. as game progresses more letters are added to the pool to increase difficulty in solving single or multiple word answers. anagrams must be solved correctly to move to the next level. others words can be formed and scored, but until properly solved, no advance. multiple word answers could be allowed if they make sense or are a legit phrase. solved words could also be clues to a larger phrase that can be solved for a bonus. or something like that. This is a clone

so with ozian, i took what was cardinal and kept on going :) the height limit kept me from doing the uc extended, for now. the comp was fun and i enjoyed viewing all the entries. good luck to all and thanks once again to the fs staff and Mr Meek for another fun and creative time. This is a clone of Emblem

cardinal resulted from building out the lc from emblem. i think the glyphs convey a little grandeur. This is a clone of Ozian

hollow branch began with the straightened-out oblio lc. i initially went in another direction, but came back and completed the uc. this is rather basic (no numbers and only period and comma), but at least a true uc and lc.This is a clone of Oblio

i actually did this a little before hollow branch. i went back and did hollow branch because i wanted a full basic set that i could continue to play with. here i had added another inline "column" to the right or left of the ascenders and descenders. i felt this immediately made the glyps more majestic and regal. i added the spikes to the lc to make the uc, although i know it's not a truc uc. oh, well. This is a clone of Hollow Branch

i started here. this is an oblique style font that plays off different perspectives. this was pretty much the genesis font for all my entries in the competition. This is a clone

my final entry in ScriptComp. all the great work that has been on display during the competition really motivated me to do this. i have done other electricity-inspired fonts, but this one is different from those being it is an electric script or at least what i was able to envision. i think perhaps since i live in the lightning capital of the world (Orlando, supposedly) maybe also had a part in it. this was challenging and fun. tried not to reply too much on the copy and paste, although i'm afraid that's my great challenge when using FS - not to be too obviously modular and really making each character as unique as possible. thanks for the motivation, guys:) and good luck everyone.
note: please do not redsitribute and repost this font elsewhere. thanks.

aloha was created for Scriptcomp currently happening here at FS. evolved primarily from the o, but i still tried to push modular envelope by adding as much character as would let me while running to the finish line to complete. UC probably would be nice, ...we'll see. not sure if i will do some more new or pull from the vaults :) good luck everyone. FK

my 2nd entry in Scriptcomp. after working on this a while, i remembered cayo's font Scanografia (view here: http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/222936) mine is a different concept and not original handwriting, but similar technique. i'm sure if his was eligible, it would be a contender for sure. mine was fun to do and maybe UC one of these days :)This is a clone

the western font family mostly uses the same grid size. started with wagon train, then desert rose, saloon, ironside, and finally cart before the horse which uses a narrower grid. they are similar, but unique and each evokes a different feeling - desert rose i think is simple and pretty with its flowerets, saloon is fancy and sassy, ironside is macho and machine-like, wagon train and cart before the horse are simple but also have some embellishments :)
