How did you color the inside in that sample?

@Brynda: I used strategically placed solid colours (using the space character) in the background (alternatively, one could use gradients or a photo as well). Another way would be to export the text as a vector or raster image and fill the blanks.

To do: slightly overlapping borders (or clear separation between blocks); expanded glyphs coverage.
