This is a Fontstruct Masterpiece. I couldn't believe my eyes. The sample looks just like a text typed on a manual typewriter. Nice touch the added slight variation of the vertical positions. Good overall spacing. The glyphs are so good, you must have used some template. I would make the doulble horizontal stroke of the Euro symbol a bit longer, it could go to the centre of the C. Some diacritical marks need a bit more decay. Another nice touch is the addition of ligatures (imagine them on a typewriter). It is delightful to see how this family evolved. The whole project commands respect for the extreme difficulty involved. Frankly, I was a bit sceptical at the first (typewriter) font you can pull it off, but you did. You splendidly did! 10/10
You rendered the effect quite well, P2pnut. It´s nice to browse around the latest works of my fellow FSors and find the have been busy with such cool projects. I´m inspired!
Wow, now this is rather spectacular! The fs-restricted diagonals are finally working for me; despite how you could have convincingly concealed any number of angles within your superb distressing technique in order to create more classic proportions, the variable character widths go far to add another layer of liveliness to the distressed effect. Anyone looking to handcraft (!) a “worn, clogged and broken” fontstruction should ask Ray very politely to see a clone of this. He has defined consistently inconsistent edge fidelity within the medium: no repeating patterns, yet an awesomely unified result. Perfect marks!
