The font can work by itself or curious effects can be achieved. The 3D aspect becomes real by adding one or two gray bands to our text as the samples show. Some alternatives (A, a, E, Y) are at the end of the Basic Latin set.

very nice!
@jirinvk: Thank you very much.
curious design indeed, the font almost seems to have the effect of being viewed through water, splendid finished product
@swash.buckler: Wavy letters was my first idea, but I had to abandon that path because I was not satisfied with the final aspect of the glyphs. Thanks, and glad you like it!
Talking a little about all, the name "zpains" refers to my country, Spain, and the moments of duality in which we are living here (that is why I add the "s" final ", referring to the 2 Spains in constant confrontation that already described the great poet Antonio Machado): the eternal social struggle liberalism-conservatism. It's a kind of view.
yw. and thanks for posting the sketch drawing. nice to see the genesis of the letterform.
@jirivk: You're welcome, pal. I've always thought that it might be useful for someone to show the creative process of a font. Many fontstructors make their fonts directly on the screen without prior drawing, but I'm old-schoolish and I like to see how a glyph design will look if I first have done it with pencil on paper.
@meek: Thank you very much, dear boss. I'm very honored with this new TP distinction and I will take this like a new push to show it out there.
Excellent work and these grey bands in your samples are very effective!
@four: Thanks a lot for your ever kind comments and support, compañero!
Cool font! Also, quick question: Why do all of your font names start with Z?
