Recreation of the stencil font from Seibu Kaihatsu's "Raiden Figthers Jet" (1998), used in the intro cinematic, the briefing/battle result data screen and in-game notifications (e.g. "Quick shot!"). This font was also used in "Raiden Fighters 2: Operation Hell Dive" (1997), but only for the in-game notifications.
Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.

I am always in awe when I see these old computer fonts. Your mastery recreating the look of old games is legendary. It takes observation and understanding of the old machines and codes as well as creative thinking to be as successful as you are. I understand why not even a handful of FSors make these fonts, as I tried inventing one for the games comp and I failed miserably to give the thing some memorable personality.
Your samples are impressive, do you collect these old games?? In your sample it looks like a stencil font, but I assume that type wasn't really in use?
@Aeolien i have an extensive collection of MAME games, and i like digging through the actual ROM/tileset to find clean sources for the fonts they use in the game...so probably less of a creative process (as i'm essentially only copying a font that's already been made), but more of an archival/preservation urge on my part to make sure some of these wonderful pixel fonts aren't lost forever :)
@Patrick Lauke (redux) - As a fellow member of the Video Game Font Preservation Society™, I say you've been doing a wonderful job of rescuing these digital typefaces. Please keep up the great work! :^)
