Well, it's not ugly, at least at pixel size. I especially like how the word "farmhand" looks.

I love the randomness of this (although I also realise how much work goes into creating 'randomness').

It reminds me of early 1960's comedy film titles. 10/10

Thanks for the support guys!

Yes it's only 3 days left and this would be a busy work. I don't have very much free time even if now is students big holiday in my country, and yes I'm still a student ;)

This font is great I love IT,
it worth the effort :)

This is not the ugly script, this is the zany script, or the inky script. Great fun - I hope you make your deadline. But please do the uppercase F K X and Z - and some punctuation. Good work.

Well now, isn't this turning out to be a serious font :) Only one entry, and it's already enough, whilst I have three, but it seems, yet again, I'm just not that good when it comes to competing.
Already loving those and, the, or. And waiting for your terrific samples!
Stiff, Zelemin, Lupo and now the "Ugly" one, go straight to favorites!

Thanks winty5!!

You don't need a professional graphic application to make a good design.
All you need is just your creativity and take advantage of existing resources even if it's limited.
And you have a great creativity, the example is your Winthaus sample, I love that.

Look, a 10-year-old kid can make design that good :)
Comment by cablecomputer 14th june 2013
I only used Paintbrush (which is basically the same thing as MS paint) to make my Winthaus sample. Thanks! :)

The most joyful entry of them all. Expert use of brick wobble to distress curves both thick and thin, rendering with a casual looseness organic forms that are not easy to fontstruct. Well done! 10/10

It is great and refreshing . All the "beauties" are allready made and
you can get them at fontshop.
Comment by macossin 14th june 2013
I'm with will.i.ૐ & macossin. Congrats for finish the font and for the great effort you've realized to do it (I know a little bit of that). Good luck!

After many considerations, I think this font more deserve a good name, not the "ugly" ones.

Just imagine, when this font is going publicly, this font will be called by the people "the ugly script" whereas I made this with hours and hours choosing the right shape, good looks, and even I made ligatures to make it beautiful, and I named it "ugly"??

And, many people say this is not ugly at all, and I totally agree with them (thanks for the appreciations!) this make me believe that I should change the "ugly" to a better name.

I change it to "Farmhand Script" inspired from the Architaraz' first comment:

"Well, it's not ugly, at least at pixel size. I especially like how the word "farmhand" looks."

What do you think, should I change the name? Or any suggestions for the name?? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

And yes, with a new sample also.
Comment by cablecomputer 1st july 2013
YEAH! Nice, the Farmhand Script! But maybe capital F could be improved, after all, it is the first letter of Farmhand!

I thought the name could be changed too because it wasn't ugly at all.
Comment by Noah F. Ross (winty5) 1st july 2013
You know, I think this entry TOTALLY DESERVED to be a winner. I was a bit disappointed when I saw it wasn't.
Comment by Noah F. Ross (winty5) 1st july 2013
Well done, pal!

Congratulations! FontStruct Staff have deemed your FontStruction worthy of special mention. “The Farmhand Script” is now a Top Pick.
Comment by Rob Meek (meek) 2nd july 2013
@winty5 You're right about the "F". Needs more improvements...

About the competition, the winners really deserved it, winty :) Disappointed. I feel the same like you (a bit), it's normal I think. I'm a bit sure that some of us that entered the competition and didn't win feel the same.

Now, I learned something from the competition. You must understand the purpose of this competition. What is it? Making a beautiful scripts? Not only that I think. The staff wants to see if modularity works on complexity of script fonts.

Now look who's the winner, Stiff Script, Jalgas, simple but powerful... Lupo wins because of its originality that is really awesome.

@elmo: Thanks, compañero!
