The ideas come but they need some effort to 'live'. Let yourself be inspired by what you see in your environment, at work, in nature: try giving a "shape" to the feeling you get when you see/do/hold something that is important to you. Then draw/doodle a shape or two to express what you feel. Then make this shape with Fontstruct bricks. Then make a font where all glyphs are based on this shape.

Allow yourself to discover new ideas and work with them. Making fonts is a nice way to touch people.

We all have a life... we chose Fontstruct to give shape to what we feel, think, want to give to others, want to see for our own delight or use, in an unusual way: not every person who wants to show creativity can draw, paint, compose, dance, play an instrument, design fashion or buildings, be an author, invent recipes, etc.....

I'm with Aeolien. But you must to do the right thing, you are your boss. And you can try it once again, too. "If inspiration comes, it finds me working." (this said the great Pablo Ruiz Picasso). Personally, I carry with me (all the days) a school notebook, and I draw the sensations that I feel to convert a few of them in (sometimes strange or maybe rare) glyphs... Then, time put reason over my sketches... and suddenly there appears a new font! And it's not magic, it's only work, and to believe in you, over all. Don't get bogged down so soon, please.

Take it easy. It's just to put the bricks on the paper, curve, block, angle, curve, block, block... One by one, you know that. And the simple letter forms are the best to find new styles, only changing a few of their bricks... Try it!

Aren't you creating a font right there? Creating fonts is like pushing all the bullies away. Just use poor curves or do something. Make a font inspired by music. Pictures. Bloons Tower Defense. Flags. Apples. Stencil. Try typecooker.com!
