However, I'm not at all comfortable with the title ... 'spaz' is a rather cruel (and frequently abusive) term based on the word spastic (itself an outdated term for someone with Cerebral Palsey). The use of the term 'spaz' can be viewed as being as bad as the 'n' word applied to a person of colour.
I'm sure you did not have hurtful intentions when naming this font ... but hope that you reconsider and find a more acceptable title.
To be honest, I've never heard of that before. Whenever I hear "Spaz," I immediately think of something freaking out rather than being stiff and rigid. I also think that in today's world, the term has changed to mean something freaking out and acting out of the ordinary. An example would be the term "Fag." In the past, it used to mean a bundle of sticks, but today it's a derogatory word for a male homosexual.
I will look into this more and will reconsider another title. Thanks for the input!
Thanks for considering this ... I appreciate that you have used the term in the light of your understanding of its usage.
I am probably more aware of the negative connotations as my friend's son has Cerebral Palsy and I know just how much he loathes the word spaz.
Regarding the word 'fag' it was also used, here in the UK, as a slang term for cigarette. In all innocence I once asked a big American Hells Angel type biker "Would you like a fag?" ... luckily someone explained before he decided to wrap me round the nearest tree :)
