Roughly based on my NCD Black Square fontstruct, but massively scaled up to accommodate the internal lines.

I found that the small caps version works nicely when used in odd combinations with the lower case. Particularly the upper 'R'.
Most difficult characters were the F/f. I wasn't too keen on the open space they made, so I've added more than a few alternatives. The 'r', 'J' & 'L' gave me a similar visual dilemma.
I have also completed a version with Normal Caps. Which will be displayed soon.

ALTERNATIVES
============
# = d (stem facing other way)
^ = e (extended arm)
< = F (rounded top edges)
* = f (over lapping next character)
\ = f (alternative with extended tale)
] = g (old style)
% = g (old style with ear)
[ = g (extended foot)
‡ = I (alternative)
} = J (alternative)
> = M (Monospaced)
{ = r (shortened arm)
` = S (alternative)
§ = W (alternative)
~ = y (extended foot)
If you're name's Thalamic, Afrojet, Intaglio, jMarquez, Minimum, Kix, Geneus1, MagicSam, Shasta, beate, Funk_King, Em42, Empar, or anyone else's work I've may have downloaded, then please email me, and I'll send you the final version .... if you want a copy that is. :-)

Great set. I like the second alternate g.
Comment by aphoria 28th may 2009
Thanks Aphoria, I agree, but in practice it didn't quite suit everything it went with.
I've even got a version of it with a ear. I may do a serif version, in which I think it will work better.
Here are a few variations on the 'g'
Comment by djnippa 28th may 2009
All very nice, but I really like the one with the ear.

Solid stuff, Nippa. Looks great.

Oooh, nice samples, Mr. DJ. Cool font too. The fine break lines really sets the letters off well. :)
Comment by thalamic 29th may 2009
An outstanding job, DJ.

Wow what a line-up Aphoria, Empar7, Afrojet, thalamic, SquarePeg, it's like a who's who of the top designers in the great game of Fontstruct. As Pele, Ronaldo, Best, Charlton, Maradonna are too football, you guys are to Fontstruct.
Many thanks guys.
Very much appreciated.

Awesome job. I especially like the Euro glyph.
Comment by Frodo7 30th may 2009
Very clean set and sample. I definitely like the old style g with the ear.
Comment by geneus1 30th may 2009
It's in there as the '%' key.
It does makes the font more distinctive, but it wasn't as versatile. Having the option to make your own choice keeps everyone happy :-)

Great work here! solid work
Comment by Axel Leyer 4th june 2009
It's no mean feat to create such a fat face that works so brilliantly with no misshapen glyphs. I'd vote it ten but I can't.

Well done mate - good luck with future sales.
Comment by p2pnut 14th november 2011
I realize that I'm late to the party on this one... but this is just so good... and such a great use of FS.
Comment by fugitiveglue 19th november 2012
DJ logo I have just designed. The client requestied that I use NCD Autonium.
Comment by djnippa 2nd november 2013
Solid, modern, polished. I have one suggestion to tweak to the second ‘i’:
Comment by William Leverette (will.i.ૐ) 2nd november 2013
I'm with will.i.ૐ. Well done!
Comment by elmoyenique 2nd november 2013
@will.i.ૐ. Nice suggestion, and I have a tendency to agree, but the client had already declined that idea. I did 72 variations altogether, of which one was the alternative 'i' you propose. You certainly have a good eye for detail. Thanks.
Comment by djnippa 2nd november 2013
nice!
Comment by djsintez 3rd may 2014
Another DJ logo I have just designed. There were several others, but the client S King Cole chose this one.
Comment by djnippa 17th may 2014
Great logo - guess he was well pleased.
Comment by p2pnut 18th may 2014
He actually loved two of the fourteen logo variations, but decided on this one as it looked more 'Superstar DJ'. I'd actually designed a whole new font call NCD KIng Cole, for one of his other logos.
Comment by djnippa 18th may 2014
Excellent logo. Are you planning to share that other font at some stage?
Comment by four 19th may 2014
Thanks four, I'm not sure yet. I'm very indecisive about a lot of things at the moment.
Comment by djnippa 19th may 2014
best
