Apparently, it is quite easy to forget what gets a fontstruction going. Something about ultra condensed bla bla bla. The rest is just a matter of having a creative activity to occupy the mind. And if in the process you can help out a friend, all the better.

Wow! Really like the lightning shapes of A, V, W. And your Q is quite quaint! Also your numerals (especially 2, 3, 4 and 7) are looking sharp!

Is there any reason your l is extra tall, and your other ascenders (b, d, f, h, k) are at t-height?

10/10 + fave

Comment by Christian Munk (CMunk) 4th july 2016

Thanks, CMunk. The l is extra tall because it just looked nicer that way. The t should be shorter though. If these fonts were designed for being used, the characters would be more restrained. As it is, every character is however it wants to be rather than how it should be. Aesthetic whim is as close as I can come to defending the shape choices. :-)

The zid-zag AVW were forced into those shapes to keep the ultra condensed nature of the whole cohesive. I'm glad the Z worked out with the steepest angle brick possible. Otherwise it migh have required a jog in it somewhere as well. Come to think of it, maybe a jogged Z should be included as an alternate anyway.

I love this. The usability factor is great, the quirky Q, W, V are great, the ampersand is great, just amazing work. 10/10+fav

How many risk solutions and how great results here, master!

Comment by elmoyenique 6th july 2016

Awesome work! I especially like the Q.

Should the F be flipped, or is it on purpose?

Comment by V. Sarela (Yautja) 6th july 2016

Thanks, thanks, thanks, beate. :-)

Thanks, winty. Not sure about the usability.

Thanks, elmoyenique. It's easy to take risks if you don't care if the font gets used or not. ;-)

Thanks, Yautja. The F is flipped on purpose as the special element of the font is its verticality. A regular F would have left too much gap between it and the next letter. I figured an uppercase F is most likely to be used at the beginning of a word anyway and unlikely to be preceeded by another...so might as well have it sit well with the next character. But just to be safe, I'll add another forward-facing F somewhere.
