I loved the idea too! (a little less the limited usability.):
This design is not minimal at all. 19 bits instead of 7. (6 + 6 bindinds, which is a necessary trick -of yours?- to disambiguate a lot, else we would get too many duplicates in 7 bits from this precise layout, i.e. a vertically* hexagonal matrix.)

"Hexagonal Dots" is making -a great- use of lines, not only of dots.^^
