3) The font must be tagged with "FontOut#" where '#' stands in for the specific number of the FontOut.

4) Every two weeks, a FontOut will be announced and participants can publish fonts or images within that two-week time period.

This FontOut:
(8th July 2012)
Ligatures! Ligatures are special characters that connect two or more glyphs. This week, create the word firefly using a ligature for fi, fl, and any other ligatures you want. Let's see how many letters can be connected! Entries must be created using FontStruct.

The last time you can upload a sample is 15th July 2012. Voting starts on that date.

Let's see what our FontStruct community can do!

May not exactly follow the rules, but I'll probably still make another entry.

Took me a while to get yours Yautja, but now that I see it, it's great! No exactly right for the spirit of the competition, but it's still great to see!

P.S. Yes I know that one is stretching it a bit, but can the fi/y combination count as a ligature?
Comment by truth14ful 13th july 2012
Everything was made on fontstruct except for the effects, which were made with paint.NET.
What do you think?
Comment by Echo (Rahi-Tak) 13th july 2012
Since Adobe Illustrator was the only vector art-making program installed to my computer, I used it to make this font. (I couldn't install the font because I have an Administrator for my computer. I had to remake it.)
Comment by Ivy Meadows (Isaiah Garcia) 13th july 2012
I didn't make the font using Illustrator. I made the effects using Illustrator.

Oh, right. I'm so sorry, Yautja. You can put in more samples until tomorrow, everyone. Voting starts tomorrow. My mistake.
Comment by demonics 14th july 2012
If so, here goes my entry (even though I think I overdid it... a lot) - click on the image to get a free full HD wallpaper.

I just got a sudden injection of inspiration and motivation, so I opened up Cinema 4D and Photoshop (which is nearly impossible on my PC) and made use of the font. I thought it's worth sharing!
Comment by Neoqueto 14th july 2012
In case that is simply too much and it's a failure in legibility - don't worry, a clean sample is here.

Comment by Neoqueto 14th july 2012
(these are a single entry, as the logotype remains unchanged in both pictures)

Get your votes in! FontOut4 voting starts now, and ends in one week (22 July 2012).

You may no longer upload samples.

Please vote in this manner:

1st: username's #th entry
2nd: username's #th entry
3rd: username's #th entry

Only putting the date and time of the entry on your votes makes them quite difficult to count. Thanks and good luck!
My revised votes:

1st: chr.s' entry
2nd: elmoyenique's entry
3rd: Neoqueto's 2nd entry

1st: Cablecomputer's ambigram, reminds me books of Dan Brown.
2nd: creatornine, but I must say that it's too professional :)
3rd: elmoyenique.
Comment by kassymkulov 16th july 2012
Oh and a suggestion for FontOut6:
Create an ambigram using FS.

An ambigram is an art form that may be read as one or more words not only in its form as presented, but also from another viewpoint, direction, or orientation.

1st: Isaiah Garcia 1st - Every letter is a ligature.
2nd: creatornine 1st - Although the top and bottom bars would not be possible as ligatures.
3rd: Yautya 2nd

2nd: Yautja Sat, 14th July, 12:59 PM
3rd: Neoqueto Sat, 14th July, 5:43 PM

PS: I have a little doubt about the sample sent by Isaiah Garcia: I see some curves and details on it that seem to me that they all are not produced in FS, I know that you can make adjustments and modifications on your sample and that is allowed, but perhaps he may have been distorted they a little bit too much. Anyway and more every time, gracias, Isaiah!

PS: I was talking about this sample...
Comment by elmoyenique 18th july 2012
I couldn't download the font because I needed an admin's password to download. I had to press Fn. PrintScreen. and then recreate the whole thing.
