Yeah, I suppose I should. I have an overall disappointment with it which is probably not going to go away with tweaking. I did the hard cuts into the rounds deliberately: it's not as if I don't know better.
Maybe I'll do an U.C. that has a lot of heresy in it just for fun.
i can hear the font say "this is going to hurt me a lot more than it hurts you" like a parent remorseful about the discipline about to me meted out. and it would seem that although we control what bricks we use, doesn't the font "become" what it will? for me it seems the fonts develops from each glyph - individually and collectively and probably most importantly, how it is used. i think i would like to see a gallery where we can browse examples of how the fonts have been used by people. i think use is key, but i also say you never know what people will use.
this is turning out nicely. going for it, eh? the lc already had lots of character. the uc is looking fine :)
@kix: thank you for shaming me into working on an U/C. I'm having more fun than I thought I would.
@aphoria: yes it's the unfortunate artifacts that present themselves in the preview that put me off. I like the forms, it's the execution that leaves a lot to be desired.
@f.k.: yeah! It's a bit like a novelist who finds his characters are running away with the book. The gammy-leg k is running away with the font...
@afrojet: thanks for the encouragement, I shall. I'll be happy to get the basic form out, like a pencil sketch. I don't think I'm going to attempt to refine it. I didn't start it on a big enough scale. Doh!
Hah! I feel a combination of flattery and pique. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised at somebody trying to make money out of my designs if I'm stupid enough to make them completely public domain.
