Make the letters any width desired.
Type the uppercase letter for the left half of the letter, type an extender (or not), then type the same lowercase letter for the right half of the letter. The more extenders are inserted between the left and the right halves, the wider the letter becomes.
I and T are the exceptions where the extenders are typed before and after the left and right halves and not inbetween.
The other exceptions are M and W which have been split into 3 and extenders are added between the left, middle and right thirds.
? is split between ? and /
Extenders are located at @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) and _
How to extend:
A@@a, B##b, C$$c, D$$d, E##e, F%%f, G$$g, H^^h, &&Ii&&, J**j or J**$$j, K^^k, L**l, M(({((m, N((n, O$$o, P@@p, Q$$q, R%%r, S##s, (((Tt))), U**u, V**v, W**}**w, X^^x, Y^^y, Z__z, ?@@/

I love it. G$gR%rE#eA@a((T((( C$cO$oN)nC$cE#eP@p((T(( :D
A design that puzzles -- we either experiment or read the description to get clear legible text. This novel design and idea gives one or more real DIY fonts ;)
Do you think you can split the left half of the M in half, leaving the left left half on the M and moving the right left half to another? It'd allow us to put extenders on the left side of the M...
(And the same with the right side of the W)
Great concept! like zephram said, master. 11/10 as usual.
Awesome concept.
You've just revealed to me that the connection of letters using the 'sandwich' method that I used in my Countertop font can be used for letters, not just dingbats. Consider myself schooled.
GenIus. Variable fonts FontStruct style.
Thanks, all. Appreciate it.
Wow artistic.
G can also be extended like so: G$$__g
(and G__g)
I was trying some similar in this old font called zage. But my connectors was "floating", changing the font style from sans serif to serif or script... At the end, your idea is very best than mine. Congrats again.
So awesome! You're so good. :)
C$$cO$$oN((nG$$gR%%rA@@a(((Tt)))S##s!
A@@a, B##b, C$$c, D$$d, E##e, F%%f, G$$g, H^^h, &&Ii&&, J**j or J**$$j, K^^k, L**l, M(({((m, N((n, O$$o, P@@p, Q$$q, R%%r, S##s, (((Tt))), U**u, V**v, W**}**w, X^^x, Y^^y, Z__z, ?@@/
Nice sample with the extending X...
I second that ! Love it, makes me wanna make a variable font too..
Cool! Great sample too! :)
With G__g i did this:
Student01, Please don't call him that... (Can anyone hide comment 27)
The next hybrid hillbilly?
Sample Text
4/7?
LOL WHAT.
All letters are not capitallized.
Looks OK, but I need to tell you this. The Y looks wrong when extended. Can you make Y have the same rules as M and W?
