When I was creating this font, the word "state" popped into my mind.  The serifs give each character a stately look without looking too collegiate.

I think you should look at the angles tutorial first, for I see that M, N, V, W and Z have thick lines catching my attention.

From a design point of view the thicker lines are a good counterpoint and don't distract. Changing those lines would make this font less attractive. Creative thought, courage to experiment, applying knowledge and experience combined to win.
