how do we go about adding our own letters?
Clone n' PM?
Comment by ssaamm 17th june 2011
Nevermind, I just needed to look harder
Comment by ssaamm 17th june 2011
I want the "Z", It's possible?
Comment by elmoyenique 17th june 2011
What happened ? Was there a bug ? Every glyph out of Frodo's has been messed up with hundreds of unwanted triangles!? I can't do this twice the same and i did not cloned. Bad Bad News.
Comment by Abneurone Fluid Types 17th june 2011
After closer look, it seems that only the plain squares have been replaced by triangles, so i think i can fix it
Comment by Abneurone Fluid Types 17th june 2011
Raro...
Comment by elmoyenique 17th june 2011
I'm very sorry, it happened when I made my glyph at the H slot, and all the squares got turned into triangles, so sorry i ruined your font. I already contacted Support and gave them the permalink.
Comment by truth14ful 17th june 2011
That's happened before to one of my fonts, it was because I had made one, deleted it, and then made another one with the same name. Also it might have something to do with the square block in the H slot that I erased before I made my glyph.
Comment by truth14ful 17th june 2011
And it looks like I accidentally changed the tags too! I'll change them back...
Comment by truth14ful 17th june 2011
I fixed mine and made some late improvements. This time i made a private copy for security
Comment by Abneurone Fluid Types 17th june 2011
will, here – i think i cleaned up that glitch. Sometimes deleting all instances of a brick confuses the system, as the my bricks palette cascades all subsequent bricks in assignment order. Add in the occasional multiple instances of a brick in the my bricks palette, and things can get wacky in the gltiched substitutions and reversing the process.

neurone, please confirm that I did not alter your D.
Comment by Collab Rat 17th june 2011
Neurone, here. @ Will : Yes it was altered, but as i did my safety private copy, i could replace it. Now it's the good one. Please don't touch now.
Comment by Collab Rat 17th june 2011
So can somebody make another glyph now w/o altering it again?
Comment by truth14ful 17th june 2011
Who made I?
Comment by BanjoZebra 17th june 2011
Don't worry truth14ful. The whole random triangle thing happens to me in my fonts too. Just some weird glitch. Its usually fine once everything is back in order.
Comment by Ken Bruce (crispycraker) 17th june 2011
@neurone: 10-4 :)
Comment by William Leverette (will.i.ૐ) 17th june 2011
I must say, things are lookin pretty nice here. Do we have plans for any further projects? :P
Comment by Ken Bruce (crispycraker) 17th june 2011
@Will : What do you mean by 10-4 ? Is it a code ?
Comment by Abneurone Fluid Types 17th june 2011
10-4: a CB radio slang meaning affirmative. Kinda like aye aye maybe.
Comment by William Leverette (will.i.ૐ) 17th june 2011
Who made the "I" glyph?
Comment by Collab Rat 17th june 2011
My second contribution, 12th glyph(L). I hope you like it.
Comment by Frodo7 18th june 2011
I put my second contribution on the K : Very small details so ZOOM IN AS YOU CAN
Comment by Abneurone Fluid Types 18th june 2011
Hi all. I've added my R at the "Z". But I don't like the "moireé" effect with the diagonal lines...
Comment by elmoyenique 18th june 2011
@ELMOYENIQUE : Welcome to my world in which the FS PREVIEW massacres all my fonts! Annoying isn't it ?
Comment by Abneurone Fluid Types 18th june 2011
@Elmoyenique : to see your glyph in good preview proceed as follows : while holding the Shift key of your keyboard, click 4 times on the PXL button of the zoom slider, then Fullscreen, and scroll down. It might be a very big glyph now with sufficient definition to avoid the "moiré". You see, it's possible to improve the preview of too much detailed glyphs like mine, but who is going to make all those absolutely unnatural manipulations when he's zapping on the FS publications ?
Comment by Abneurone Fluid Types 18th june 2011
@neurone error: I can see the headlines in the news: FS Preview Massacred All My Fonts! The camera slowly pans around the scene of slaughtered letters lying in a pool of red ink. Severed ascenders and descenders, broken stems, disfigured serifs, eviscerated bowls, mutilated diacritics litter the ground. Some small caps still breathing. It's gory and messy, it's beyond imagination.

@elmoyenique: It all depends on how you set the zoom. At high magnification there is no moire on your glyph at all.
Comment by Frodo7 18th june 2011
I saw the moiré only in my screen, if the "Z" rules out OK that it's all!
Comment by elmoyenique 18th june 2011
Well... not all: I have two new Rs to include in this font... I'm talking about the "Y" and the "X"...
Comment by elmoyenique 18th june 2011
Can I make them?
Comment by elmoyenique 18th june 2011
@Frodo7 : LOL ! But that's a not so much exaggerated description of what i feel every i preview my fonts !
Comment by Abneurone Fluid Types 18th june 2011
@Elmoyenique : Why is it so important for you to get the letters in last position ? Is it some sort of superstition ?
Comment by Abneurone Fluid Types 18th june 2011
@ne: "Z" is the last letter in the alphabeth... It deserves a little better luck...
Comment by elmoyenique 18th june 2011
Elmoyenique, I moved yours to the M. Remember, go in order.
But we're still wondering WHO MADE THE I.
Comment by Collab Rat 18th june 2011
Added a third on the N
Comment by Abneurone Fluid Types 18th june 2011
...And a fourth on O
Comment by Abneurone Fluid Types 18th june 2011
OK, in order. I make the "I", if you want.
Comment by elmoyenique 18th june 2011
Lost in translation: I don't struct the "I", I'm not the autor. My problem is my poor english, I beg your pardon. But I'm going to produce other glyphs. The "P" and "Q" are availables?
Comment by elmoyenique 18th june 2011
Added a new one on the R. It's fun ! Thanks BZ for this sympathic initiative ! Still, You still did not explained why the R...
Comment by Abneurone Fluid Types 18th june 2011
I changed the I since no one claimed it. Ya snooze, ya lose.
Comment by Collab Rat 19th june 2011
Added a sixth on slot S :0)

Comment by elmoyenique 19th june 2011
It's a poor start. With a few notable exceptions the glyphs are simply disappointing. Some of them hardly constitute a letter R, rather they give a new meaning to rubbish. Photoshop effects don't help to sell the same recycled theme again and again. Who would want to download and use this fontstruction if it's useless from the start? I know it sounds harsh, and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but it's better to tell the opinion frankly than pretend that everything is alright. Sorry guys, but we have to pull ourselves together, try harder, and do better.
Comment by Frodo7 19th june 2011
I'm with Frodo7: I am disappointed with this event (yes, obviously I spent a while when I had to construct some glyphs that I can't may use soon). We must tighten our nose when we're just throwing snot.
Comment by elmoyenique 19th june 2011
An interesting idea, but here seems to be a huge gap between very creative technical ability, and just plain trash. You have pro's mixing with what seem to be first timers.
Here is my humble opinion.
VERY GOOD
G,H,J,L,M,P,Q
OK
A,B,C,E,F,I,N
VERY BAD
D,K,O,R,S
Comment by janking 19th june 2011
Sorry I forgot to switch off the bold.
Comment by janking 19th june 2011
@elmoyenique: Your first glyph (at the place of M) is the only one so far to have a vague reference to the third dimension. It is nicely done, and good for the purpose of this collaboration project. However, should you develop it to a fully fledged font, the tilted angle may not work in text. Your second glyph (at P) is a special one: it is based on a zigzag pattern, blessed with proportions; it looks great. I hope you develop it to a full set. The third of your Rs (at Q), a kind of western type is a decent glyph too, but needs optical adjustment at the bottom: the stem looks longer. It is not easy in FS, but for a single glyph it can be done. Your recent font zenovia eYe/FS has the same problem.
Comment by Frodo7 19th june 2011
correction: blessed with beautiful proportions...
Comment by Frodo7 19th june 2011
I'm glad when you're asking me more, you were the first one who helped me to make alphabets in FS, and I still appreciate every word and support that I receive from you. Putting a bit of philosophy here, I'm thinking on the river of Heraclitus, in which we touch it or not, but never we are the same when we do it (or not)... Each comment help me to change and to build better my glyphs. I can pay it.
Comment by elmoyenique 21st june 2011
can we make lower case glyphs in the lower case slots?
