more fun with the o from wireframe. geneus1 did his framestore based on the o also. i liked it and thought i would do my own. like his, this is huge, but it does dl. meek, you were right, took a while, but wow :)

so this was kinda a test - to see if indeed the new servers could handle the load (no really) well i figured have some fun and see if it dls. i started with the O from wireframe and did the A and E after which i decided on going with a block style on a 3 X 5 grid using the O as the "brick". i've done many in this style to varying degrees of success. i like how the structure of the O allowed it to be deconstructed in areas for the B, M, W which helped the set maintain greater consistency i think than wireframe or hemisphere.
so with regards to the dl. it did take like forever, but i was pleasantly surprised when it completed, having tasted the bitter fruit of the malformed generation meanie :( but it looks like he's gone bye bye :)
359 fonts out of 6892 of all shared fonts belong to fk. That's 5.2%.
Similarly, 81 out of 1515 Top Picks also are fk's. That's 5.3%.
5% of all shared fonts by, say 100,000 registered users (a rough guess). How wow! Grand Master Funk King surely deserves a server of his own. :)
BTW, I sure wish I could access the database. It would be so much fun to run statistical analysis on this stuff. Or maybe Rob or Stewf could run them and share a sampling. ( Hint, hint. ;)
@ jet - thanks bro. i can hear the server grunting when they dl this one :)
@ thal - thanks for the stats. i agree, i'm sure there is some interesting data to be mined here. i often wonder when most dls occur - not just during the day, but during the year as well - do schools and universities have an impact on dls. also, although i have high numbers regarding fonts and dls, my actual per font dl is low because so many fonts compared to others who have less fonts but higher per font dls. i'm sure voting patterns can also be observed since each voter must be registered - that would be a good way to identify and delete problematic "users" (aka trolls) and their votes. would also be interesting to see what types of fonts get dl the most. and on and on...
