@architaraz, Upixel, Umbreon126, 3moDuDe, elmoyenique, four, p2pnut, and anonym voters:

I'd like to say a big THANK YOU for supporting me with votes and comments. I have trouble to find words of solemnity at this moment, so let me put it simply: your support mean a lot to me, it gave me encouragement.

@meek: Thank you for organizing this competition, and providing us excellent tools for creativity. Thank you for responding quickly and fixing a technical problem. And thank you for the honor of being selected as Top Pick and Featured Download.

It was my first competition, and I worked hard for three weeks. I even took some vacation. Having seen the works released earlier, including the two other winners, I realized the bar was raised high, the competition was strong. I only wanted to participate and compete with a reasonably good new font. I wasn't sure about this font until the very last day, when I finally solved some problems with important glyphs. As a consequence, I had to redesign the whole set, but eventually all the pieces have fallen into place.

I'd like to congratulate to beate and four for their succes, as well as to all other participants, my esteemed fellow contenders, who have submitted brilliant works. We are all winners!

@Frodo7: I missed my chance to comment on Thorin before the competition results, but I want to tell you that as soon as I saw your work here, I knew it was a winner. Amongst all the other great work, it’s my top choice. I can only echo now Mr. Larabie – this is my favorite out of all 70+ entries. Congratulations!

@will.i.ૐ: Thanks William, I really appreciate your kind words. As I wrote above, at the end all te pieces have fallen into place with this font, and I was very happy with it.

I love it. It's soft, but rugged. I have tried making a stencil font, but it totally failed. Your fonts are great!

I love this. How do I download?
Comment by MokeyChunky 15th december 2013
@MokeyChunky On fonts with a "All rights reserved" license, you can't download.
Comment by Evie Atarax (j4s13) 15th december 2013
The competition is over now, why continue to have a font all locked up where people can only look at it from behind a glass case, but not touch it?
Comment by OsyenVyeter 15th december 2013
@j4s13 and OsyenVyeter: Thank you for your comments. I understand your frustration of not having instant access to this font. Selecting "All Rights Reserved", however, was a nonrandom act to protect my intellectual property. Let me explain it briefly.

In the past it was regular to find my works, even half finished ones, listed on free font sites unsolicited. I didn't like that.

Great fonts don't come out of thin air. There are long hours, days, even weeks of hard work behind every glyph, every typeface. At present I'm mulling over how to turn this creative hobby - of making fonts - to a profession. Part time first, and later... we shall see. I'm upgrading and completing my fontstructions, including Thorin Stencil, so as to sell them on MyFonts for a profit. A trickle of second income would then liberate me of working overtime; so I could relax a bit, and create more fonts. I am not the first person on FS to follow this path, and hardly the last one.
