10/10!
I'd like to say a big THANK YOU for supporting me with votes and comments. I have trouble to find words of solemnity at this moment, so let me put it simply: your support mean a lot to me, it gave me encouragement.
@meek: Thank you for organizing this competition, and providing us excellent tools for creativity. Thank you for responding quickly and fixing a technical problem. And thank you for the honor of being selected as Top Pick and Featured Download.
It was my first competition, and I worked hard for three weeks. I even took some vacation. Having seen the works released earlier, including the two other winners, I realized the bar was raised high, the competition was strong. I only wanted to participate and compete with a reasonably good new font. I wasn't sure about this font until the very last day, when I finally solved some problems with important glyphs. As a consequence, I had to redesign the whole set, but eventually all the pieces have fallen into place.
I'd like to congratulate to beate and four for their succes, as well as to all other participants, my esteemed fellow contenders, who have submitted brilliant works. We are all winners!
In the past it was regular to find my works, even half finished ones, listed on free font sites unsolicited. I didn't like that.
Great fonts don't come out of thin air. There are long hours, days, even weeks of hard work behind every glyph, every typeface. At present I'm mulling over how to turn this creative hobby - of making fonts - to a profession. Part time first, and later... we shall see. I'm upgrading and completing my fontstructions, including Thorin Stencil, so as to sell them on MyFonts for a profit. A trickle of second income would then liberate me of working overtime; so I could relax a bit, and create more fonts. I am not the first person on FS to follow this path, and hardly the last one.
wow cool font
