i had a road map that went:
quartile slab -> imisislab -> triplequartile slab -> slab
i made the first two, but realised that imisislab was already slabbish so i renamed "quartile slab" to "imisislab" and the original imisislab to "slab", which is the one that you're seeing

Because @lvqille wanted to extend their font family: "first" by adding a slab serif. In fact, you can read their thought process in the first comment, as well as the description.
