This font is inspired by graphic designer Rafael Serra, who created the letters in "SHINING" using a pentagonal style reminiscent of the Overlook Hotel carpet from The Shining. While I did completely design the font myself, I cannot take credit for the letters S, H, I, N, or G as they are of his design. Here is the link to his Dribble account.

For the rest of my letter forms, I modeled in his style and tried to emulate the pentagonal carpet pattern from the movie. Please enjoy!!
A fresh style that needs more work, seeking unity and homogeneity in the design and in the height of the glyphs, which —as shown— currently reduces much of the positive force created with the font's original angular design. Still, the glyphs are nice.
Thank you all for the kind words and feedback. I recognize this still needs some work and would like to revisit it soon! I am a first year graphic design college student so I am still learning. Aside from character height and finishing numbers, are there any other fixes I should consider? Any letters in particular that need some work?
@evancollins02, hope you enjoy the process of studying! I went the path of a graphic design student, and FontStruct, as well as tinkering with typography in general greatly helped and influenced me in those years.
I personally can’t really decide if unifying the height would help or hurt the design. I’d say that it adds some charm to the font and even makes it slightly more legible since the glyphs are somewhat more discernible due to their different heights.
I agree with @Cookielord on some points about the creativity of maintaining the different glyph heights he mentions, but I was specifically referring to the homogenization of the design of letter groups like B-D, E-F, I-J, B-K-P-R, T-U-V-W... One more little thing that strikes me is that the design of the J is a bit inconsistent with the rest, IMHO. Overall, the font has a very charming design, and that's why we're commenting on it, trying to modestly contribute to its growth, if that's your wish for it. We do it with our best intentions, but you're the boss here. Congrats and go on!

Pretty cool font!
Tall and highly decorative! Reminds me of Cyrillic vyaz in that regard. Nice one. :)
