On 1st September 1939 Germany invaded Poland, a peaceful country that never attacked or threatened its neighbours. The ensuing events lead to a global military conflict lasting for 6 years and costing an estimated 60 million lives. Bombs and Men is my memorial to those who perished needlessly.
I should have used a lot more bombs/human figures/crosses to illustrate the vast scale of that calamity. But I had to consider the limitations of FS. I've managed to create a version you can download in one piece.
This is very moving. As a font it is excellent; as a concept it is a most noble and touching tribute. The sample goes beyond nationalities or borders and reminds us of the terrible loss that war engenders.
this works on many levels. you have masterfully used your excellent icons to construct a remarkable set. the glyphs are effectively designed to convey both the enormity of what it is they represent and the urgency of the message. outstanding. your samples are great.
