P.S. Lovely use of the FontStructor here, Goatmeal!
BTW, where is this pixel character from or is it your own creation?

To compete against the Atari 2600 home video game system, Mattel Electronics produced the "Intellivision" (1979-1983); while quite popular at the time, it faced stiff competition when the Colecovision came out. Unfortunately, no early system would survive the collapse of the home gaming market, known as the "Video Game Crash of 1983".

[To be fair, a company called INTV Corp did support the Intellivision system with hardware and new games for few more years (1984-1991), but by this time, the Nintendo NES console dominated the home gaming market.]

The "running man" (as he is now affectionately known) was the basic model for various player characters, such as sports and action games. The uppercase letter characters are from the sports game "Football", while the lowercase letter characters are from the action game "Night Stalker".

The "Football" running man is the logo for the nostalgia website, "IntellivisionLives.com", operated by many of the original Mattel game programmers. It has also become the iconic symbol to represent the Intellivision gaming system for its fans.
