This font is for representing the nonprintable characters of 7-bit ASCII using symbols that are more meaningful and intuitive (at least, in a modern context) than those of the ISO-2047 symbol set. Extensive discussion of these choices can be found at http://www.eng.fsu.edu/~mpf/My-ASCII-Glyphs-v2.3.pdf .

@p2pnut: Thanks. I'm actually thinking of revising the separator characters 1C-1F soon to something a little more descriptive; the current choices for those were based on symbols available in Arial Unicode MS (which is what I was using for this purpose before I created this font).

Check out ModControl2 and see if you like the symbols for the separator characters in that one better.

Minor revision 3/19/13: Corrected baseline, eliminated extra pixel of width, minor improvement to stopwatch icon (in SYN symbol).
