I actually experimented with the same ideas in a not-so-strict modular way: Kongstrukt @ WhatWeDo.dk.
Here I scaled some characters and elements up and down to avoid disproportions between the characters, and I could do things with s, v, w that simply looks better than in this strict modular environment.
I added some alternatives to the lowercases... at Kongstrukt 3x4 Lowercase Alternatives to make it look more like the non-modular version wich has got more personality.
Should I incorporate them in the original??
I think you could leave your alternate version seperate......or you could attempt to blend the two together. It's really up to you :)
Either way, this is really nice work. I'll be looking forward to any updates you do.
