I am a student at UWE and have designed this font as part of a first year typography project. My starting point for the font was the word MOTION. After having eliminated various literal interpretations of this word I began looking into political movement (movement being a synonym of the word motion), in particular the current international protests against corporate greed. The Occupy Movement. Strong, bold lettering was an essential element when designing this in order to give a big impact. This is how I came to experiment with tape and eventually designed this font ‘Occupy.’

Motion? I'm not sure. Adhesive tapes could refer to a number of things including censorship, repair, collage, packaging and healthcare. But you are right about having strong bold letters in order to get big impact. Whatever the suggestive meaning would be, Tape-type is a great work. 10/10

Anything that is against the global greed-fest is OK in my book. (although I always used to use my trusty magic marker to create posters back in the 60's).

Nice work. 10/10
