Well, to be honest, I don't expect to reach any landmarks or breakthroughs before 2038 (the year I am supposed to retire). Only after being relieved of all my sublunary obligations (related to making the daily bread), I might create something truly big.
Speaking of 2038, it is coincedentally the same year where 32-bit UNIX timestamps overflow on January 19 at 3:14:07 UTC, which hopefully should not be a big problem.
