Great effort, welcome to Fontstruct! If you want straighter edges on the diagonals, experiment with the triangular bricks and assemble the cut-off square and the narrow triangle ;)
In fact, make a font just for yourself, to see how the different bricks can be assembled. You might find many interesting and useful combinations to use in your next fonts :)
