My advice is to look at loads of font designs - see what makes them look good or bad. Then practice creating fonts. It doesn't matter if they are all great first time ... the more you use FontStruct the more confident you will get and the results will follow.

One tip (based on this font) is keep your designs consistent - i.e. keep all the strokes the same thickness etc. Horizontal and vertical strokes can differ, but make sure all horizontal strokes are the same; likewise all vertical ones.

The main thing is - just enjoy yourself :)
