  • 🧵 The Mechanics of WeftWarp

Every glyph translates a standard keyboard character (ASCII values 32–126) into a vertical textile matrix:

    1. The Conversion: The true decimal ASCII value of the character is converted into a 4-digit base-4 number.
    2. The Layout: These four digits are stacked vertically within the glyph block from top to bottom.
    3. The Threads: Each base-4 digit dictates the direction of the weave crossover:
      • 0 = Weft Up (Horizontal)
      • 1 = Warp Right (Vertical)
        • 2 = Weft Down (Horizontal)
        • 3 = Warp Left (Vertical)

Use No-Break Space (Alt+0160) for a clean undisturbed weave to fill empty space with.

Works best at font size 36 and up.

I was inspired by the movie Wanted and the Loom of Fate.
