Description:
Happy Thanksgiving, FontStructors! This is a new collaborative project for the FontStruct community that gives thanks to the FontStruct Web Application, its creator, Rob Meek, and its host, FontShop. As we received the news this month of FontShop's continued sponsorship of FontStruct, this is an opportunity for everyone to say thank you for the coolest font software in the world and its free availability. This collab FontStruct account was created by Funk-King for the first community effort that produced FS Collaboration 1. I proposed this idea to F_K for a second round of creative collaboration. -Geneus1 --------- The guidelines are simple (and most likely will be modified as time progresses: 1. Say "Thank You" in your own words/language. Spanish, French, Italian, etc. Represent! 2. You must comment to reserve your glyphs - 1 to 3 letters. The current person working on the font must inform the next person on the list that they are finished, so work will not be lost by working simultaneously. People on the list will be sent the info to access the collab account. If you are posting a message from the collab account, end the message with your screen name so we know who you are. 2. The size of the font should be roughly 32 blocks high. 3. For ease of use, the initial font is cloned from DJNippa's All Composites saved in MY BRICKS fontstruction. It is possible to work on your own FontStruct account by cloning DJNippa's font, then copy your "Thanks", exit your account, enter the collab account, then paste. 4. Work only on your own glyphs, unless approved by the original designer. 5. Once finished, add your glyph, name, and language and/or description here at the bottom. 6. Try posting a sample image of your "Thanks" in action. ---------- A- Geneus1. B- Geneus1 - Salamat = Thank You in Tagalog (Filipino). C- Geneus1 - Using Periculum. D- Funk King. E- Funk King. F- Funk King. G- DJNippa. H- DJNippa. I- DJNippa. J- CMunk, "1000 tak!" = "Thanks a thousand" in Danish. K- CMunk, using abstract letter patterns. L- Frodo7, Köszönöm, Thank you in Hungarian, using Elspeth. M- Frodo7, Hantale, Thanks in Quenya, using the tengwar font Elrond.

@meek: Thanks to you, again.

@CMunk: J and K by CMunk added to t he list.

@Adien_Gunarta: Its Tagalog, from the Philippines. As the font name implies, "World of Thanks" aims to give thanks in all languages of the world from fontstructors all over the world.

for my entries, i decided to reuse some of my early fonts for a few reasons: 1) i'm lazy and the project uses a 1:1 filter setting - i don't feel like going back to driving manual when i'm used to automatic :), 2) i wanted to contribute to the project as quickly as possible, and 3) going back to my early work made me reflect on how far i'm come as a designer thanks to fontstruct. i really am truly grateful to Rob Meek and the FS team (both FontStruct and FontShop) and wish them continued success. i used D - WPA Household Arts, E - Avenue, and F - Shoji Pixel. - fk

Hello, I was wondering if you would like a contribution in the American Sign Language alphabet (http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/395215)

I see you've reached J and K in the font. Am I supposed to recieve a password, or is DJNippa still at work?

A really worthy collaboration. I'd love to contribute and add my thanks to Mr M.

Okay, I've done my contribution now. The J says "1000 Tak!" which is Danish for "Thanks a thousand" or maybe rather "Thanks a lot". For this I used a modified version of my font '7x12PixelMono' (I doubled the pixel size and added a sort of shadow). The K is "THANK YOU" composed of parts from my font 'abstract letter patterns'. I had to change that a bit as well.

So I'm all done. The next one can contribute now.

What's the password to the collab account?

I'd like to contribute, probably with "Gracias".

I think it's a great idea, and thanks for the invitation. My contribution is on letter L rendered in my font Elspeth. (Köszönöm = Thank you in Hungarian.) Thank you Rob, and thank you FontShop!

My second piece is in Elvish (Quenya) written with Tengwar script (see my font Elrond). It reads: Hantale (han-tah-lay) = Thanks.
