A clear revival of the font used in the MediaCorp Teletext till 30 Sep 2013.

Note:
There are other variants that was made by jffry101 ("Teletext Double Height" and "Teletext") in 2019.
Take note that this design has no connection to that variant, so don't complain that this font is a total ripoff.

If anyone in Singapore has the legal capacity to coax me to take it down, they can. But I will refuse.

Downloading of font is disabled because of those kaypoh Singaporeans because they think that this is their intellectual property.

Wasnt this font used for UK/English Teletext only?...

Dear AskGamerViennaBinders,

it is really a pity you have so much trouble with Singaporeans believing this font were their intellectual property! I mean, how can they even think like that - this clearly can't be the case, as exactly this font is found in the CGROM (character generator ROM) of thousands and thousands of TV sets from the 1990's till today. I literally have one old Grundig set and several Panasonic sets which display exactly this font (or one with only ever-so-slight variations) in Teletext mode. Also, the ETSI specification of Teletext shows a default font that looks nearly identical (see page 106 etc.).

So, what is clearly your work and effort is to recreate these as a TTF font, which is a lot of work which cannot be appreciated highly enough (which I certainly do). But in terms of "intellecual property" or "prior art", clearly not those Singaporeans have any rights to that font. If they ran a Teletext service then the font is created/rendered in the TV's of the viewers, not created by them as Teletext service providers.

That's so... weird!

Anyway, I am the creator of an open-source software for rendering teletext pages on the web, which is already used by several German television networks for their websites, and also I run my little own "Teletext" on my website. Just for the sake of fun, I included a mode which renders the pages using the other (free/downloadable) variant of this font by jffry101, which really looks like on an old TV set. Unfortunately, many glyphs are missing from his font, so I am really looking forward to a point in time where - maybe - the "beef" with those Singaporeans could be resolved so anyone could benefit from your great work. Thanks again!

Here's the example using the other font:

https://www.fabianswebworld.de/ttxweb/?page=100&template=retro-tv

You can try the test page, 896, which shows the problems arising from e.g. glyphs for "äöüÄÖÜß", some more diacritics, and especially the "black square" (U+25A0) missing, so it destroys the monospaced layout. I think your font contains all of them, except U+25A0 which would be a worthy addition in case you ever plan additions/updates to this great font.

Anyway, keep up the great work!

Best regards,
Fabian
