You have got better at using the bricks and filters really fast. It looks like are enjoying FS
y, v, w,s, x, and r could be improved, but other than that, nice job!
@Aeolien: I understand about making composites by stacking bricks at least somewhat, now. But I have no idea about filters. The image is missing from the get started guide and so I think that it is just for zooming, but when I try using it strange things happen and I wind-up with a mess. So I am puzzled about filters.
My wife is from Poland so I wanted to add her "S with Cedilla" and I saw a lot of other useful stuff as I was looking for it, so I just started adding them. There's seemingly no end to them, though. LOL
@winty5: I agree with you as well, I don't really know how to address the letters that I can't easily add serifs to. But if I can figure that part of it out I will want to do more serifs.
Thanks, guys!
Left (black) is 1x1, right (blue) is 2x2.
:P
The part I didn't understand is that it would make ALL your Blocks bigger. So I thought when you used it, you made every single block on the canvas bigger. Like a zoom. Only when I used it it zoomed each block.
Now it makes more sense.
The Latin Accent Characters? They are there...
Yeah guys, I made the S with Cedilla. You can see it in the font. Maybe check it out in full screen and increase the font size? It's there. Been there, done that. ;) It was one of the first extra Latin accent characters I started making once I did the ones the the characers were copied to in Fontstruct.
Sorry about the misunderstanding. I plan on adding all of the Latin accent characters in one font (maybe not this one, but eventually to one of them).
Thanks, guys! Sorry about the mix-up and my confusion.
Thanks, @j4s13. Boy, I sure wish I saw that post in 2013. LOL.
Spacing had previously been an issue, this was one of my earliest fonts. And I need a couple of style touches to attend to. Always something.
I changed the C, c & e. Now I have to attend to all the accented versions of these characters.
To do list:
Y diagonal frame should be as thick as the Z. The y diagonal should be that thick, too. Take a look at k (looks funny to me). Reverse the X horizontally? Try super skinny arms for E & F. Fix the 1, 4 & 7. Fix $. Come up with a better & than that one. Make a better tilde and then apply it to all the characters that use it. Get all accented characters looking like their non-accented counterparts. Check the accents, make sure they are looking right.
Btw, I have recently updated this character set with overshoot caps so that the top and bottom of letters with holes in them (like O, o, Q, q, P, p, etc..) doesn't disappear. This needs to be carried out throughout the accented characters, too ( a part of my to-do list).
Then, I can make another official distribution copy.
(RESOLVED:) Did I break the Fontstruct preview function? I have reloaded the page several times. took a shower during one page reload, but nothing shows. I just get the busy bar. FIXED
You know, I think I may be going crazy with this one. I just redid a ton of crap that I just redid. And I am so anxious to make a sample preview graphic image, and I can't, because there is always something...
Kerning for the Basic Latin letterset is done. I still have to fix that ugly Y/y pair (and all the accented versions).
Made a few kerning adjustments. The Y (and to a lesser extent, the y) is begining to grow on me and I am not sure I want to change it, now.
Good Bye (@ecluniverso)...
What is "Hanover Medium Font", gb? It's Broadbill. Designed as a playful Broadway Playbill font, and all my own work, not derived from some other masterpeice by one of the Fontstruct geniuses.
Ah, I see. You forgot to change the font name. Shame. LOL
IGNORE THIS IMAGE (See the next one).
IF POSSIBLE, DELETE THIS...
I am so used to making OFL fonts now I forget I made stuff as CC and no online use. This is NOT a web font. Dumb Me.
Crap... wrong image. It isn't a web font.
