Well, I archive this strict 3x3 trial too (of course), with all its flaws [buggy/huge vertical spacing, black square and e.g. O=0 duplicates, plus the rest I already mentioned e.g. there].
I'll see -later- if you found a few decent 3x3 alternates (e.g. 7 looks OK, unlike the mirrored 3).
Bottom line: not US-ASCII = not a font (just another 10 minute test or illusion?)…
