A simple basic font without 'frills', except for a few lines (just to make it stand out a bit) to break the straight lines one might see on first glimpse ;) I'll use it to develop other fonts from. I think this is different from my other fonts: less 'decorative' more 'utilitarian'.

I think you need to make sure that your characters are at the same X-height. Having said that, curved letters such as C, O, Q tend to exceed the X-height and bottom line slightly - this is called the overshoot.
