This font is based on Herbert Bayer's Universal font from 1926. His typeface was created with the intent of reducing letterforms to their simplest characteristics and eliminating all other typefaces. While this font was not made with such high ideals or ambitions, it was inspired by his simple letterforms and is built from simple pieces which are repeated throughout the various characters to create an overall unity. Unlike Bayer's type I chose to focus more on a set of mostly uppercase characters rather than lowercase and I elongated the letterforms. All of the strokes are the same width focusing on a more functional aesthetic focusing on reduction and simplicity.
