for a 1st grader
My advice is to pick one of the letters (that you really like) and see whether you can make a complete font all in that style.
It is good to keep the letters in proportion to one another and to always work from the blue (left) line.

I agree with p2p and elmoyenique. look at one of the letters you made, what makes it different to the other styles you have in your font, and then mafe a complete font using just that one "set of instructions' you gave yourself when making the original latter.
I agree, the C, c and also the p seem like they will make a good part of a new font.
