4x3. Keyboard characters only (plus a very few extras). the @ symbol is a solid 4x3 block, which actually works fairly well. all lowercase letters, including p,g,q, (but not including the tall ones: t,i,d,f,h,j,k,l,b) are 3x3; and all are well-distinguished from upper-case. I don't think it's possible to make characters smaller than this... well, without limiting oneself to just uppercase or lowercase.

Good 4x3 font, great job you did here, but I do not agree, there are very successful fonts on smaller grids, like for example the recent font here in Fontstruct named "3by3" by designer Scisco also including Uppercase and real Lowercase. I myself tried a much more difficult grid (because there is a "middle" missing) of 5x2 in horizontal and vertical version in my fonts named "Less is more" 1 and 2, complete readability being quite impossible in this grid (The horizontal version is quite legible, but vertical 5x2 was extremely difficult.
