A nice variation. Yes, I can see the point: the neighbouring letters merge or connect better. I like both versions. 10/10

But the dropping of bends has the effect of making the letter wider. They will need to be narrowed a bit. Or maybe just widen the N a bit, and all should be set.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I widened the N a tad and I think it looks much better.
